Sōma Yukihira (幸平 創真ゆきひら そうま, Yukihira Sōma?) is the main protagonist of Shokugeki no Soma. He is the son of Jōichirō Saiba and worked at his father's diner, Yukihira until it was closed when Jōichirō decided to work overseas. He challenges his father to cooking matches regularly and despite losing every time, he maintains a confident attitude in the hopes of using his failures to aid him in the future. He is currently a student at Tōtsuki Culinary Academy and a resident of Polar Star Dormitory.
