We compile a list of six reasons why PlayStation gamers should consider playing ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ now that it is available in India today.
If you haven’t read our Ghost Of Tsushima review from earlier this week; you may have missed out on reading about one of the best games to launch for the PlayStation 4. ‘Sucker Punch Productions’ has made an open-world samurai epic that we all kind of expected Ubisoft to make. However, with unique gameplay, a beautiful world and compelling storyline; Ghost of Tsushima has become one of our favourite titles for the PlayStation platform. Ghost of Tsushima is now available to play and we give six reasons why you need to check out this game:1. Addicting Combat Mechanics © Sucker Punch Productions_Sony Interactive EntertainmentIf you’ve ever wanted to feel like a Samurai, this game will fulfil your fantasies. The game perfectly emulates how a Samurai would fight with different stances and precise strikes that make the combat highly addicting and fun. The game also has unique combat elements such as duels and standoffs which make you feel like you’re playing the game set in an Akira Kurosawa movie. 2. Gorgeous World © Sucker Punch Productions_Sony Interactive EntertainmentThe world crafted by the developers at Sucker Punch Productions is a vibrant and vivid playground where you get to explore the many biomes of Japan’s landscape. You will come across many picturesque vistas full of lush valleys, lavender fields, yellow maple trees and other key visuals you would associate with feudal Japan. The game even has its own photo mode which, in our opinion, is the most comprehensive offering any game has been able to offer till date. You can customise almost everything from particle effects to the weather and even controls the leading character’s facial expressions. We spent hours in the photo mode and couldn’t get enough of it. 3. Duels © Sucker Punch Productions_Sony Interactive EntertainmentIf you’ve ever wanted to be in a Samurai movie from the 60s/70s; this is your chance. While combating enemies during duels, it is backed with a cinematic visual presentation and soundtrack that makes you feel like you’re in a movie. The game comes with a separate “Kurosawa Mode” where everything on your screen turns black & white. It even has an aggressive grain filter to give that old-school movie vibe. We recommend using this mode during duels as it takes the experience to the next level. 4. An Open-World Adventure © Sucker Punch Productions_Sony Interactive EntertainmentIf you like to explore a beautiful world with hidden areas and points of interest; Ghost of Tsushima is the perfect game for you. In our review, we said “Exploration and discovery is a fundamental facet in this game that has been facilitated well with the beautiful island of Tsushima. While a world can look pretty, it won't serve its purpose until there are plenty of activities to do in it. As we mentioned earlier, you need to explore the world and discover key locations that are essential for upgrading your character.” Exploring different locations is beneficial for your character and is essential to get the full experience as intended by Sucker Punch Productions. 5. The Guiding Wind © Sucker Punch Productions_Sony Interactive EntertainmentSucker Puncher Productions have reinvented how navigation can work in games with new innovative additions such as ‘The Guiding Wind’. The game does not have a mini-map and instead uses gusts of winds to guide you to a location. Using this method generated curiosity and felt more natural than following traditional tracked paths in mini-maps. Since there is no mini-map; you will pay more attention to the world around you instead of glancing towards a corner of the screen periodically to track your progress.6. A Story Based on Real Events © Sucker Punch Productions_Sony Interactive EntertainmentWhile the story is completely fictional, it is set during the time of the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The developers have taken inspiration from true historical events and managed to deliver a compelling story set in feudal Japan. You play as Jin Sakai who is trying to reclaim the island of Tsushima from the Mongol army. You will get to experience Jin’s inner conflicts as learns he needs to set aside his lifelong Samurai codes and adopt guerrilla warfare to fight from the shadows. We highly recommend experiencing this story if you love history and want to know more about Samurais.
