Sony At Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017: Game Announcements
Sony E3 2017 Announcement: While Xbox may have launched the most powerful gaming console yet, it left us a little underwhelmed due to the lack of new games the new Xbox One X has to offer. Sony revealed tonnes of games at E3 2017 and heres what we know.
November 3rd, 2017. A day that will forever be remembered in history as the day ‘Battlefield One’ lost relevance. There’s no denying the fact that ‘Battlefield One’ is currently the go-to game for anyone looking for a fast-paced World War based FPS. But, all that is going to change. Here’s a look at what you can expect from the multiplayer campaign of the upcoming ‘Call of Duty: World War 2’:What’s the first thing you noticed about the footage? Gameplay? Graphics? Weapons? Vehicles? You know what we noticed? Probably the best ever song choice for a trailer since ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Don’t agree? Go back and give it a watch one more time. This time, focus on the music and the lyrics. What an awesome score. ‘Death Don’t Have No Mercy,’ that’s the name of the track.Once we managed to get past the nostalgia of finally being able to see what ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ would look like if it were released in present day, we sat down to dissect the trailer. Here are a few of the things we’ve noticed:- The flamethrower is back from ‘Call of Duty: World at War’. This time, the fire and the charred bodies of your enemies look more real. Every pyromaniac’s dream weapon? Well, we loved it.- Finally, when you stab someone with a knife, there’s blood everywhere. With realism being at its peak in video games today, this is something that was sorely needed in ‘Call of Duty’. Now, we’ve got it.- We’ll be getting control of vehicles like never before in a ‘Call of Duty’ franchise. They may have taken a cue from ‘Battlefield’ on this one but do you see us complaining? NO!While watching the footage for the third time, we couldn’t help but feel like we were in one of the ‘Commandos’ games from the early 2000’s. But, instead of a bird’s eye view of the proceedings, we were right in the middle of the action. Just the way it should be.In case you missed it, we discussed the first look trailer for this game when it released back in April 2017. You can read about that here. It’s like the ‘Call of Duty’ developers got a rude awakening after ‘Infinite Warfare’ and decided it was finally time to cater to the audiences instead of trying to make some new sci-fi masterpiece which would go the way of ‘Star Wars’. © ActivisionNow, on to some of the announcements that accompanied the footage:- Zombie mode was all the rage when it released with ‘World at War’. It’s going to feature in this game as well. Little information is available about the game mode as of now. The only thing we know for sure is we can’t wait to kick some zombie ass. One more piece of good news, zombie mode will most probably come with a separate co-op campaign. Exciting times we live in. Here’s a blast from the past:- Instead of boring old Axis vs Allies, which has been done to death by every other World War based game ever, multiplayer will have a new mode called ‘War’ which takes a narrative driven approach.- Gone are the multiplayer classes. They’ve been replaced by divisions. This just adds a touch more realism to the entire thing.© ActivisionSince multiplayer is where all the fun is nowadays, we’re sure the developers have addressed all the problems they could see coming. Moving on to something the gaming world is gradually paying lesser attention, the single player campaign. Luckily for us, ‘Call of Duty: World War II’ will feature an in-depth single player campaign which takes you through some of the most epic battles as part of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division. Besides other things, you will storm the beaches of Normandy and you will help liberate Paris.Signing off with the most excitement since ‘Doom’ was teased at E3 in 2014.(In case you missed it, the game will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on the 3rd of November. )
